Another shark attack, from the never ending source: Reunion Island.

But there’s good news this time… the victim survived!

Eddy Chaussalet (47) was attacked while surfing the big wave spot La Follete on the West side of the island. Thanks to the quick response from local firemen and doctors, Eddy does not need to get his arm amputated.

This shark attack is the 3rd of 2015 at Reunion. The previous 2 attacks were fatal. Is it really worth the risk??

Stay safe everyone, and we’re wishing you a speedy recovery, Eddy!

(And hey Reunion Island… how about testing some of those shark prevention devices you’ve been talking about?)

  1. Hey surfer, how about not going in the water where there are no shark prevention devices + when conditions are bad, and the water is murky (which is what he did).

    • But why are there no shark prevention devices when the government said they were funding hundreds of thousands of dollars to experiment with them?

      • There ARE shark prevention devices but this guy chose to surf somewhere where they’re not installed (goodness knows why) AND on a day when water visibility was pretty bad. He’s lucky to have escaped with his life. Unfortunately none of the English language articles I’ve seen about this attack mention these facts.
