Our mission at Ho Stevie! is to have the best quality, price, and service. AND the most fun :)

We've been doing a good job (in my opinion) with our video content, but we are lacking written content.

I want Ho Stevie! to be a source of educational, entertaining, funny, thought provoking, surf content.

Let's teach people things.
Let's make them laugh.
Let's make them think.
Let's keep them up to date with the latest news in the surf world.
Let's give them a place to escape to when they aren't surfing.

If you're a magician with your words and storytelling, and you live and breathe surfing, please apply.

While we are based in San Diego, this is a remote position, so everyone is welcome to apply.

Position can be 20-40 hours per week, depending on what you want. I’m flexible.

Pay will start at $20-30/hour, depending on your skill/speed/experience.

You'll get to work with the best team, consisting of me (Stevie), my wife B, and our video wizard Cj.
(We have our first team surf trip coming up next week! Nicaragua 🌊)

Responsibilities

You will be crafting the best written content for our blog.
Similar to The Inertia, Stab, BeachGrit, Surfline, etc.
From news, to philosophical debates, to how-to guides.

Creating your own featured images and screenshots for each blog post.

Copywriting product pages and ads.

Writing emails for our newsletter.

Qualifications

• Passionate and knowledgeable about surfing.
• Amazing writer/storyteller.
• Mailchimp or other newsletter platform experience is a plus, but can be taught.
• Photoshop/Canva experience.
• SEO knowledge preferred.
• Sales/copywriting experience preferred.
• Wordpress experience is a plus, but can be taught.
• Basic HTML knowledge is a plus.
• Google Analytics experience is a plus.
• Reliable and trustworthy.
• Detail oriented.
• Proactive and self motivated.

5. Share 3 ideas (can be just headlines, or more fleshed out thoughts) for articles you would like to write for our surf blog.
